Window manager for macOS
A Mac window manager that works like a canvas
Most window managers snap windows into halves and thirds. Panora takes a different approach: your desktop becomes an infinite canvas you can zoom and pan, so every window always has a place, and you can always see it.
Zoom out to see everything, zoom in to work
Pinch or ⌃-scroll to zoom out and every window turns into a live preview on a transparent canvas, with your real wallpaper behind it. Zoom back to 100% and the real windows are exactly where their previews were.
Real windows are never scaled or squashed. Panora only moves them, so apps behave exactly as they normally do.
Row and grid layouts
Arrange all windows left to right in a single row you scroll through, or in a grid. Drag a window to reorder it and the others make room. Panora keeps an even gap between them, even when a window changes size.
- →Row: vertically centered, scrolls sideways like a filmstrip
- →Grid: drop windows anywhere; neighbours move aside instead of overlapping
- →Resize a preview to enlarge its content without touching the real window
Open any window in place
While zoomed out, rest the pointer on a preview and the real window opens right there, ready to use. The layout stays as it is and the other windows stay visible. Move away and it goes back to its preview.
FAQ
Does Panora resize my windows? +
No. Panora only moves real windows. Resizing a preview on the canvas changes how large its content looks there; the real window keeps its size unless you hold ⌥ while resizing.
Which macOS versions are supported? +
macOS 14 Sonoma and later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
What permissions does it need? +
Accessibility, to move and focus windows, and Screen Recording, for the live previews on the canvas. Nothing is recorded or leaves your Mac.
